Childhood Cancer Awareness Month is recognized every September by childhood cancer organizations around the world. With a goal to increase awareness and raise funds for those affected by childhood cancer, September is the best opportunity to rally interest and to get others involved in the cause. AppD Cares is fortunate to have a group of impactful global nonprofit partners dedicated to finding cures and making sure that Childhood Cancer will eventually become a thing of the past. In honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, AppD Cares has donated $20,000 split evenly to Children with Cancer UK, the Care-for-Rare Foundation (Germany), St. Jude Children’s Research Center and St. Baldrick’s.

There are many reasons to support cancer research, from experiencing cancer firsthand to supporting a friend or loved one. The Security Renewals team wanted to fundraise to those in our life that have been touched by Cancer. Every dollar we raise for Cancer Research goes towards helping people who have been affected by cancer which includes life-saving research, prevention programs and support services for anyone affected.

Over 400 Cisco employees, families, and friends from 21 countries are training to join in the adventure of hiking the famous Spanish ‘Camino de Santiago’ (The Way of Saint James) in June. During the period of the Camino, the combined team will walk more than 60,000 km, or 37,000 miles, equivalent to walking around the equator of the earth, and keeping going until getting halfway around again. The main purpose of this initiative is to raise funds for cancer support associations across the globe. We have all been impacted in some way by cancer. In support of “Los Caminantes” efforts, we ask you to join us in the fight against cancer by donating to the nominated charities. Cisco employees are participating from the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxemburg, Netherlands, Portugal, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, UAE, United Kingdom, and the United States. Camino routes: The French Way, Portuguese Coastal Way, Finisterre Way, and Primitive way. When: 6th to 10th of June​ Final Destination: Santiago de Compostela​ Children with Cancer UK is the charity selected for the UK.
