Gaza Amputee Project Fund

In 2022, the Global Fund for Humanity launched a critical initiative to aid women and children in Gaza grappling with traumatic limb amputations. The situation is urgent, with many children and women in Gaza bearing the scars of gunshot or bombing injuries, while others were born with defects necessitating amputations. To ensure they receive the vital care needed to regain mobility, the Global Fund for Humanity established a community-based treatment program with our local partners . This often involves sending children abroad for care that is not locally available. We also work in collaboration with the Hamid Rehabilitation Hospital in Gaza City to provide local treatment. In 2024, we expanded our efforts to include mental health treatment and support for these children. We also initiated support for the training of local staff at Hamid Hospital and the provision of essential materials and equipment.
